ASU held on for the win against UCLA to become bowl eligible

Arizona State Sun Devils (6-4, 4-3 Pac 12) defeats UCLA Bruins (2-8, 2-5) 31-28 on Saturday during their last home game at Sun Devil Stadium. This win was monumental in many ways...QB Manny Wilkins was among the many seniors they recognized at the game and the Sun Devils become bowl eligible.


Herm Edwards said during an interview that "he is happy for them more than anything. They have come a long way since the beginning of the season to find themselves in a position where they are bowl eligible is fantastic."


Senior quarterback Manny Wilkins, led the team to a victory with 259 yards and three total touchdowns. He said through his high emotions "I'm very blessed to be a part of this football team, it means the world to me."


Sophomore running back Eno Benjamin was quiet in the first half, but came out explosive in the second half. The Bruins held him to only 51 rushing yards on 14 carries in first half, but he came out with 131 yards with 20 carries after halftime and a touch down. He also says that "Manny is the most passionate quarterback that ASU has ever had."


Wide receiver N'Keal Harry had 7 catches for 100 yards. Harry said in his post game interview that getting this win for senior QB Manny Wilkins: "This win was huge for me, I wanted to send him off on a good note."


Bruins quarterback Speight finished game with 335 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception on 26-of-35 passing.
